ThinkQuest is a competition that has participants from all over the world. Although this competition is very technically oriented, technology is not the sole focus. Teamwork and collaboration are much more important pieces, often deciding the fate of months of hard work. In 1997 I was approached by two seniors participating in the project asking for my programming assistance. Before I knew it, Jim Kalinowski, Chris Bunk, and I were a team, working on the project we call The Global Relations of the Many Nations. It is also available online. We placed in the top 10% of all the entrants, receiving a semi-finalist ranking. In 1998, I I decided to form another team to revamp and revise that site. We worked hard and recievced an honorable mention. The updated site is also available online. I am also participating in the 2000 ThinkQuest competition -- once the site has been finalized and uploaded, look for a direct link to it here. Also, you can read an article I wrote for the school newspaper about ThinkQuest or one written about me. |
